For many years I was moderately overweight. I did a brisk 3-4 mile walk daily and ate fairly moderate portions. I did though snack and nibble throughout the day. I wasn't really hungry I was "eating for taste" instead of using food as fuel for my body. As my weight did not change I was at a point where calories in and calories burned were balanced. Problem being it was at an unhealthy and overweight level. I tried different diets and fads but nothing lasted and "calorie creep" was always there to take me back to my unhealthy overweight state. Soon I was achieving "health through chemistry" in the form of medications and pills. All this did was mask the issue and lock me into increased medical expenses which were both BAD! Being overweight didn't happen overnight and thinking about the "D" word (diet) was usually associated with the thought of long-term hunger, slow results, and difficult sustainability.
One day during a visit to my doctor, who is also my health coach, we were talking about weight and he introduced me to Take Shape for Life. Before starting any weight loss program one should always consult their doctor so speaking with him made it easy for me. I will never forget that day as my decision to take my life back through a "Healthy Habits" lifestyle has been GREAT.
With the TSFL program the coaching and information has helped me see this as a permanent lifestyle change. Coaching, habits of health lifestyle, and the medically formulated meal plan has really made a difference for me. The results were noticeable in a short period of time which kept me motivated and feeling better about myself. For me sharing and coaching is a way to give back the success I've had with the TSFL program. I do feel I have taken a step to a longer and healthier life.
